The Research, Innovation & Statistics (RIS) unit produces and publishes the productivity research, statistics, and competitiveness data that inform decisions across government, business, and labour.
From annual productivity measurement reports to South Africa’s IMD World Competitiveness rankings, RIS is the evidence base that helps decision-makers understand where the economy stands — and what it takes to improve.
- Publishes annual Productivity Statistics Reports tracking trends across all major economic sectors
- Produces and distributes South Africa's IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook profile
- Conducts sector-specific research to guide national policy and enterprise strategy
