Today, 20 June , we join the global community in marking World Productivity Day under the theme: ‘Accelerating Productivity for Sustainable Development.’
As South Africa rebuilds in the wake of the pandemic, productivity has never been more critical.
It’s the engine behind job creation, service delivery, and our competitiveness as a nation.
Our recent decline in the IMD Global Competitiveness Rankings is not just a statistic — it’s a wake-up call.
To realise the National Development Plan Vision 2030, we must urgently improve our productivity performance across sectors.
This is not a journey government can walk alone.
We call on business, labour, academia, and civil society to partner with us — because when we produce more with what we have, we build a better future for all.
Let’s commit to accelerating productivity — for a stronger, more competitive South Africa.”
