I welcome you to the first edition of the Productivity SA online newsletter for 2018. Productivity SA’s mandate is “to promote employment growth and productivity thereby contributing to South Africa’s socio economic development and competitiveness.” Productivity SA is promulgated according to The Employment Service Act, 2014

The Employment Service Act, 2014 is quite succinct in outlining the duties of Productivity SA. The primary purpose of the act include the promotion of employment and re-employment prospects facing retrenchments. The Act also aims to see the realization of the promotion of economic growth and workplace productivity.

The Act further hones in on the function of Productivity SA and specifically outlines the function of the entity as to support initiatives aimed at preventing job losses amongst others.
