Productivity SA Chief Executive (CEO), Mr Mothunye Mothiba, Vote Of Thanks – 2021 Productivity Statistics Report

The release of the Annual Productivity statistics is key in creating a platform for understanding how an improvement in productivity in the private and public sectors can help spur economic growth in South Africa.

A cursory look at the 2021 Productivity Statistics shows a significant decline in growth of Labour and Multifactor productivity while Capital productivity recorded a considerable acceleration during the same period.

You will recall that in June 2021 we launched the IMD WCY 2021 which also reflected a grim picture of South Africa’s global competitiveness at 62 out of 64 countries.
