Transnet and Productivity SA – ESD Programme

The Transnet Enterprise and Supplier Development Department has partnered with Productivity SA since 2014 to support enterprises with business development and services. The Transnet Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme (Title: ESD) is a 11-week programme aimed at the reduction of waste, improving utilisation of resources, efficiency, and quality.

Since the inception of the programme, Productivity SA has supported until the end of 2020, amidst Covid-19 challenges, 228 actuals to a target of 254 enterprises nationally across all Provinces.

Transnet’s sponsorship made it possible for 29 enterprises across South Africa, to participate in the 2019 National Productivity Awards of which 7 were Transnet Enterprise Supplier Development Programme participants and provincial winners in the 2019 Regional Productivity Awards.

The aim is to see the number of Transnet Enterprise Development participants increase and win the national productivity awards as a testament to the importance of partnership and collaboration, despite challenges.

The success of the Transnet ESD programme in partnership with Productivity SA, to increase the competitiveness, capacity, and capability through skills transfer is testimonial in the following Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise.
