Free State’s Innovative Minds Rewarded For Their Brilliant Minds
Bloemfontein: Productivity SA hosted the Free State Regional awards at Bon Hotel, Bloemfontein, on the 26 September 2019.
The government entity responsible for the promotion of productivity and competitiveness in the country, Productivity SA, held this Productivity Awards to companies that have successfully implemented productivity improvement interventions in the Free State.
The awards are conferred in the categories of Emerging Sector, Co-operatives Sector, Public Sector and Corporate Sector. The provincial winners will compete for the top honours at the National Productivity Awards gala dinner, which will be held in Johannesburg on 17 October 2019.
The purpose of the event is to inspire and award the profoundly established business who are up to so far successful.
Free State Productivity SA Regional winners.
1. One of the most inspiring testimonies amongst many was the Agri-Accomologitical company, a potato crop company established in Phuthaditjhaba; Qwaqwa, founded by the Mavusi Brothers.
The 6 year old company also gives back to the community in special cases such as funerals or small donations of school shoes to children in need. So far the the agricultural accomologitical company supplies big brands like BB Cash and Carry in Qwaqwa, Pick ‘n Pay and Spar supermarkets with potatoes.
2. Karabelo Dithebe from Qwaqwa, who started a business with a friend and was fresh out of college in 2014, experienced financial difficulties which led to the establishment of his company.
Karabelo’s company specializes in metal products, from metal funiture to automation of the security components, wall constructions, drive ways and facility gates. So far the company has hosted 27 Aprentists and interns.
3. Jappan Agricultural group that bases it’s produce on aromatic plants has been operating since 2003, was further infused by indigenous knowledge systems and exploration of the industry.
The establishment produces Edibels, Cosmetics and Medicine, in patnership with the Central University of Technology. It also focuses on teaching youth about their products but mainly the preservation of plants.
