The Honourable Minister of Employment and Labour, TW Nxesi, convened a significant meeting with the Board of Productivity SA on 5th October 2023. This assembly was chiefly to apprise the Board regarding the recent alterations in its structure.
The updates follow the notable removal of Professor Mthunzi Mdwaba from his esteemed position as the Chairperson of the Board of Productivity SA. This change, effective from 22nd September 2023, was made in accordance with section 38(2)(a), (b), and (c) of the Employment Services Act 4 of 2014.
In light of these events, Prof. Mdwaba has officially ceased to be a member of the Board of Productivity SA.
During the meeting, Minister Nxesi announced a key decision: The Deputy Chairperson of the Board, Dr. Anneline Chetty, will now be serving as the Acting Chairperson of the Board. This appointment came into effect on 5th October 2023 and will remain so until further communication is provided.
Stakeholders and associated parties are also informed that Productivity SA's letterhead has undergone a revision. The updated version is attached for reference and use.
