Work Integrated learning

The Productivity SA KwaZulu-Natal regional office has partnered with Durban University of Technology (DUT) and facilitated the placement of students from Thailand at a company that is a client of Productivity SA. Students from Thailand have been placed at Constantia Flexibles (Afripak), a company that has been implementing productivity improvement programmes in collaboration with Productivity SA.

Afripak is part of Constantia Flexibles, one of the world's leading manufacturers of flexible packaging. The group supplies its products to numerous multinational corporations and local market leaders in the food, pet food and pharmaceuticals industries.

One of the key objectives of this partnership is to accept exchange students for the purpose of Work-integrated learning. The three students placed are young female Industrial Engineering students from Kasertsart University in Thailand. The projects they are busy with will be completed at the end of August 2019 and will be managed by the Productivity SA, KZN Office.

The partnership between KZN Regional office and DUT has strengthened relationships with clients thereby allowing the selected company the opportunity to learn international best practices and providing feedback to Academia on their programmes. This is a win-win situation and mutually beneficial relationship for all those involved thereby enabling productivity improvement and employment growth.
